Our Story
The staff at Loafers Bakery & Gourmet Shoppe has been dedicated to offering old-fashioned service for 28 years. They’ve made many, many birthday, special occasion, and wedding cakes for lots of families and clubs. Holiday celebrations are a tradition with Loafers’ delicious goodies.
Our Shop
Located in the lovely north shore town of Locust Valley, the shop is more of a country store than a conventional bakery. Offering baked goods, soups, salads, cheeses, dips and spreads, cookies, cakes, quiches, baked bries, lunches, gift items, and too many more things to list, it’s worth a trip to visit us.
Loafers Bakery
This family-owned and operated bakery is truly a “Mom and Pop” shop.
Joan — Mom
Joan (Mom) is a fabulous cook, creating delicious soups, salads, quiches, and dinners every day.
George — Pop
George (Pop) is a Jack-of-all-trades overseeing the shop’s financial, delivery, and maintenance needs, while keeping everything running smoothly.
Wes — Head Baker & Kitchen Manager
Wes, our head baker and kitchen manager, creates the most beautiful and scrumptious cakes, from the simplest cupcake to the most elaborate wedding cakes.
Recently, he started a new line of lunches with fantastic wraps, homemade soup, gourmet flatbreads, and refreshing salads that the locals just can’t get enough of! He also offers catering for any occasion.
Lauren — Bakery Manager & Cake Designer
Lauren, who has been here the longest as she worked for the previous owners, does every job the bakery has to offer — from counterperson, baker, and wedding cake designer to buyer/manager, recipe developer, and creator of beautiful gift baskets.
For the past 26 years, she’s been making things happen here at Loafers.
A Family Tradition
The family and workers put their heart and soul into this little shop, and it must be doing something right!
